Ben Franklin's Birthday: The Thirteen Virtues of Benjamin FranklinThis lesson plan is designed to introduce your child to American Literature, and specifically the thirteen virtues organized by Benjamin Franklin in his autobiography. There is even a link to the full text of his autobiography! There are games you can play, virtues scoring cards, writing assignments, answer sheets and lots more. The scoring cards are based on the same system Ben Franklin used to track himself! This is a wonderful lesson plan, and is designed for older children. But I think it's worth doing with younger children even if you have to read to them and let them do the exercises with you!
Ben Franklin's BirthdayThis is a wonderful lesson plan from Discovery.com to learn about Franklin as a scientist! This is a timelime of his contributions and how they influenced the growth of this great country!
AA Milne (Winnie-The-Pooh)This is a wonderful collection of lesson plans to teach your younger children with Winnie-The-Pooh. It is based on the books and videos you can get from the Public Library system (Public Library system started by Ben Franklin by the way). There are printable crafts, lessons, activities and lots more.
