'Diaper-Free' Movement

There were many days that I wished for my children to get out of diapers. Not only to reduce the diaper cost in my house but to also reduce some of my workload. However, I find this a bit silly.

Another example of pushing our children to do things before their bodies or brains are ready.

I suppose if you can 'make it' work, drive on! To each their own. I just prefer (and have always preferred) to allow my children to do things in their own time. I never have felt the need to pressure or force them into things before they were ready or capable. That would seem to me to be too similar to peer or parental pressure, no?

Of course this view is coming from a mother that berated local pre-schools for not allowing children into pre-school, simply because they were not potty trained by the age of 3. My children potty trained all on their own between ages 3 and 4. All with no stress, no pressure!
